A commissioned painting is developed as an original work within my practice, shaped around a place, memory, photograph or atmosphere that has meaning to you, rather than reproduced literally.

The commission process

Enquiry
Submit the Commission Enquiry Form with your preferred format, subject, references and any preferred completion date. -
Proposal
Each enquiry is reviewed individually. If accepted, I develop the direction through a mood board and compositional sketch. -
Booking
Once the concept, timing and final quotation are agreed, a 50% non-refundable deposit secures the commission. -
Painting
The work is created in my studio, with two scheduled feedback rounds included during the process. -
Completion
The remaining balance is due on completion, before the finished work is prepared for collection or shipment.

A commission may begin with a place, photograph, memory, atmosphere or subject, or draw inspiration from the palette and feeling of an existing work.
Each painting is developed as a unique original. References may be cropped, simplified or reinterpreted to create a composition that feels natural within my practice.

A note on scale
Smaller works are intentionally kept more focused. If a reference contains several figures, a broad landscape or a high level of detail, I may recommend a larger format rather than compressing the composition. The final size is chosen to suit the painting, not simply the wall.

Pricing is based primarily on format and may vary with the complexity of the composition.
A final quotation is provided before booking. A 50% non-refundable deposit secures the commission; the remaining balance is due on completion.
