Based in Switzerland, Louisa Enthoven creates contemporary acrylic paintings inspired by mountain lakes, Mediterranean coastlines and the changing qualities of light. Her work explores quiet moments in nature, where light, water and landscape come together to create a sense of stillness.
Alongside painting, she is also a medical doctor — a path that continues to shape the way she observes people, places and the world around her.
This is the first body of work in what she hopes will be a lifelong painting practice.
Artist Statement
I paint places I'd happily disappear to. Not because they're extraordinary, but because they remind me that life can be quieter than it usually is. I hope they do the same for someone else.
If you forget about your phone for a minute while looking at one of these, we're doing well.
